BAND-MAID has announced that they will perform for the first time at Taiwan’s popular music festival, “Megaport Festival,” held on March 21 and 22.
This will be BAND-MAID’s first live performance in Taiwan since before the COVID-19 pandemic, making it very exciting news for local fans. Megaport Festival (Dagang Kaichang) has been held in Kaohsiung since 2006 and is known as one of the festivals that helped grow Taiwan’s modern music festival scene. Now in its 16th edition, it is one of the most talked-about music festivals in Taiwan. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what kind of energy will be created when BAND-MAID, now in their 13th year, performs at this important Taiwanese festival.
BAND-MAID held the final show of their “BAND-MAID TOUR 2025” on December 7 after touring for more than six months. All shows on the tour were sold out, proving their strong popularity in Japan. They have also announced the highly anticipated “BAND-MAID WORLD TOUR 2026.” So far, only Asia, Europe, and North America have been confirmed, and details have not yet been revealed. Their North American shows will be their first since a tour that included Lollapalooza Chicago, where they became the first Japanese band to appear in 13 years since X JAPAN. Their last solo shows in Europe were before the pandemic, and fans around the world have reacted with great excitement. More details are eagerly awaited.
In 2025, BAND-MAID released three anime tie-in digital singles in January, April, and July, followed by an eight-track EP titled “SCOOOOOP” in October. They also appeared at many festivals in Japan and overseas, and on December 29, they made their first appearance at one of Japan’s largest year-end music festivals, COUNTDOWN JAPAN 25/26.
