TOMOO’s new single “LUCKY” is set to be released on July 2, 2025.

“LUCKY” has also been chosen as the ending theme for the upcoming TV anime CITY THE ANIMATION, produced by Kyoto Animation and airing from July 6.
Based on the manga by Keiichi Arawi, CITY THE ANIMATION is a girl-run comedy that follows the quirky everyday lives of a variety of colorful characters living in an otherwise ordinary “CITY.”

In creating “LUCKY” for the ending theme, TOMOO commented:
“While reading CITY, I found myself laughing out loud—then suddenly, I was overcome by an indescribable emotion. I sat down at the piano, humming instinctively, and the chorus melody just came to me. I really love the people in this town. I kept thinking how much I wanted to be part of it too, how glad I am to have encountered it—and with those feelings, I wrote ‘LUCKY.’”

Starting this November, TOMOO will embark on her largest-ever tour to date: TOMOO HALL TOUR 2025–2026.

Blue Box, a hugely popular series with over 6.5 million copies in circulation, is a poignant youth sports romance story that delicately captures the subtleties of emotions. Its long-awaited TV anime adaptation has been a hit, and for the second cour, TOMOO’s new song Contrast will serve as the ending theme.

Regarding the creation of Contrast, TOMOO commented:
“I was deeply moved by how the characters respect and support one another. Those moments felt incredibly precious to me, so I wrote the song with the hope of cherishing those aspects.”

Contrast is set to be released digitally on January 8, 2025. Fans who Pre-add the song on Apple Music or Pre-save it on Spotify by 11:59 PM on January 7, 2025, will have a chance to win an exclusive live photo wallpaper. Don’t miss this special campaign!
