The non-credit opening sequence for the TV anime BLACK TORCH has been released, featuring the newly written opening theme song “FREEZE ME UP” by SiM.

With the broadcast of the TV anime BLACK TORCH just around the corner starting July 4th, the non-credit opening video has been unveiled ahead of the premiere. The video is an intense and stylish sequence that richly condenses the show’s highlight action scenes. It features Jiro, Rago, and other members of the “Black Torch” task force throwing themselves into battle with their own inner convictions, alongside appearances by Mononoke entities led by Amagi and Koga. Fans can immerse themselves in SiM’s powerful track and the creditless opening footage on repeat while eagerly counting down to the premiere on July 4th.

SiM’s explosive new track “FiVE TiMES DEAD (by my wallet)” has just been released, kicking off with the striking phrase “Deddedededde! (Dead×5)” and racing forward like a roller coaster.

Marking their first new song in about 1 year and 2 months, the track was created with an American producer—another first for the band—and takes SiM’s signature chaos to the next level. It’s a globally oriented metalcore anthem that amplifies their wild energy even further. Released just ahead of their self-produced festival “DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2026,” the track is already generating buzz across social media.

Alongside the release, a must-see music video has also dropped, boosting the song’s appeal. Featuring an exaggerated, almost parody-like “fantasy Japan” set reminiscent of Hollywood films, the video transforms into a frenzy where not just five, but over twenty-five “DEADs” burst into chaotic bloom. With this video, “…MAJI?” edges even closer to becoming a universal phrase. Having been selected for a main stage slot at the UK’s Download Festival 2025, SiM continues to prove themselves as a globally active band representing Japan, and this video is packed with symbolic, high-impact visuals that reflect exactly that.

SiM has announced the digital release of their new song “CHAMPiONS” on February 19, which they exclusively wrote as the first-ever official theme song for the Apex Legends Global Series (ALGS) Year 4 Championship. The tournament took place from January 29 to February 2 at the Daiwa House Premist Dome in Sapporo.

 

On February 1, SiM delivered the world premiere live performance of “CHAMPiONS” at the venue. The ALGS Championship, known for its intense and thrilling matches each year, is the pinnacle event that crowns the world’s best Apex Legends team. This year marked the first time the championship was held in Asia, with the world champion decided on February 2 in Sapporo.

 

SiM’s involvement is groundbreaking—the band is the first-ever artist to provide an official theme song for ALGS and to perform live at the event. Stay tuned for the official release of “CHAMPiONS” on February 19!
