SiM wrote a brand-new song, “FREEZE ME UP,” as the opening theme for the anime BLACK TORCH, which will begin airing on July 4.
Alongside the theme song announcement, a new promotional video for the anime has also been released. The video features the main characters and includes the first preview of “FREEZE ME UP.” Fans can get an early look at the anime’s intense action scenes and hear a portion of the opening theme ahead of the series premiere in July.
“FREEZE ME UP” will also be included on SiM’s highly anticipated new album, HOOMAN AFTER ALL, set for release on September 2. Following the recent reveals of “FiVE TiMES DEAD (by my wallet),” “BLiNDEYES feat. Yukina from HANABIE.,” and now “FREEZE ME UP,” anticipation continues to build for the band’s first original album in three years.
SiM has also announced the HOOMAN AFTER ALL WORLD TOUR, which will kick off in September. Be sure to check the band’s official website and social media channels for the latest news and updates.
MAH (SiM) Comment
“Manga is a universe. There are as many galaxies as there are readers. This song is my best attempt to express the BLACK TORCH galaxy that expanded inside my own mind through sound and words. Congratulations on the anime adaptation!”

SiM’s explosive new track “FiVE TiMES DEAD (by my wallet)” has just been released, kicking off with the striking phrase “Deddedededde! (Dead×5)” and racing forward like a roller coaster.
Marking their first new song in about 1 year and 2 months, the track was created with an American producer—another first for the band—and takes SiM’s signature chaos to the next level. It’s a globally oriented metalcore anthem that amplifies their wild energy even further. Released just ahead of their self-produced festival “DEAD POP FESTiVAL 2026,” the track is already generating buzz across social media.
Alongside the release, a must-see music video has also dropped, boosting the song’s appeal. Featuring an exaggerated, almost parody-like “fantasy Japan” set reminiscent of Hollywood films, the video transforms into a frenzy where not just five, but over twenty-five “DEADs” burst into chaotic bloom. With this video, “…MAJI?” edges even closer to becoming a universal phrase. Having been selected for a main stage slot at the UK’s Download Festival 2025, SiM continues to prove themselves as a globally active band representing Japan, and this video is packed with symbolic, high-impact visuals that reflect exactly that.
With this bold and vivid new chapter, SiM is set to draw even more attention going forward.
