SNK’s popular fighting games THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’96 and THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’97, both celebrating their 30th anniversaries this year, are now available as digital releases of their arranged soundtracks, released on July 29. THE KING OF FIGHTERS (KOF) is a popular fighting game series featuring characters from SNK’s iconic titles, including FATAL FURY and ART OF FIGHTING. Bringing together characters from different series, KOF created a unique team-based fighting system and has attracted fans around the world with its dream matchups between SNK’s all-star characters. The newly released arranged soundtracks are part of a popular soundtrack series arranged and performed by SNK’s sound team, SNK / Shinsekai Gakkyoku Zatsugakudan. For KOF ’96 and KOF ’97, renowned musicians including Akira Jimbo (Drums), Jun Kajiwara (Guitar), and Osamu Koike (Saxophone) also participated in the recording of selected tracks, creating a rich and dynamic sound. The arranged soundtracks for KOF ’94 and KOF ’95 were released digitally in June, while KOF ’98 and KOF ’99 are scheduled for digital release on August 26, 2026. Ai Higuchi’s fourth album, Saiaku Saiai and fifth album, Miseisenjou, will be released on vinyl (LP) on November 3.
Ai Higuchi's fourth album, Saiaku Saiai and fifth album, Miseisenjou, will be released on vinyl (LP) on November 3. Originally released in March 2022, Saiaku Saiai features "Akuma no Ko" , the ending theme for Attack on Titan The Final Season Part 2. The song became a global hit and continues to attract listeners around the world, making the album one of Higuchi's best-selling releases. Released in January 2024, Miseisenjou includes "Itterasshai," the ending theme for Attack on Titan The Final Season: The Final Chapters (episodic version). Following the success of "Akuma no Ko," the song became another major hit both in Japan and internationally. While fans in Japan and overseas have long awaited vinyl editions of these two albums, these releases also mark the very first analog records of Ai Higuchi's career. 2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Higuchi's major-label debut. She has also been announced as the performer of the first ending theme for the upcoming TV anime Aoashi Season 2, which is scheduled to premiere on NHK E-Tele on October 4. Japanese ska-punk powerhouse HEY-SMITH released their split EP "Unity" with legendary American ska-punk band Less Than Jake on June 24. The six-track release features three songs from each band, including HEY-SMITH’s first new material in approximately two years. "Unity" marks a cross-border collaboration between two leading forces in the ska-punk scene, bringing together Japan’s HEY-SMITH and the United States’ Less Than Jake. Alongside the release, HEY-SMITH also unveiled the music video for their new song "Voodoo Go To Zoo." Inspired by the band's first-ever Australian tour in 2024, the track captures the excitement and unique experiences of life on the road. Alongside the theme song announcement, a new promotional video for the anime has also been released. The video features the main characters and includes the first preview of "FREEZE ME UP." Fans can get an early look at the anime's intense action scenes and hear a portion of the opening theme ahead of the series premiere in July. "FREEZE ME UP" will also be included on SiM's highly anticipated new album, HOOMAN AFTER ALL, set for release on September 2. In 2026, FAIRY TAIL will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original manga series. To mark this special milestone, the original soundtracks from the first FAIRY TAIL anime series (2009–2013), composed by Yasuharu Takanashi, will be released on vinyl on September 30. The release comes in response to strong requests from fans around the world. All four soundtrack titles will feature cover artwork originally drawn by FAIRY TAIL creator Hiro Mashima for the CD releases. Each title will also be available as a colored vinyl edition. (more…)

The bonus lineup includes many special items featuring the artwork and logo design of “ENERGETIC.” The first press edition will also include a special campaign flyer for a chance to win signed items from the members. All bonuses are available only while supplies last, so early reservation is recommended. In addition, new individual artist photos of each member have also been released.
