Ako Releases New Song “Twilight”! Music Video and New Artist Photos Revealed!
Singer-songwriter Ako has released her new song "Twilight" on January 15, accompanied by the debut of its music video and new artist photos. "Twilight" is a heartfelt track blending urban sounds rooted in house and city pop. It captures the bittersweet emotions of recalling past happiness over and over before dawn. The song’s cutting-edge sound is brought to life by mixing engineer Nathan Boddy, known for his work on tracks like NewJeans’ "Super Shy". GARNiDELiA Completes Their 10th Anniversary World Tour!
GARNiDELiA celebrated their 10th debut anniversary with the grand finale of their world tour, which began in August 2023 and included a total of 26 performances, held at EX THEATER ROPPONGI on December 27, 2024. During the show, it was announced that MARiA would embark on her first solo tour in approximately three years, titled MARiA MUSIC LAND tour 2025. Additionally, a tour featuring their upcoming all-time best album, set to release on February 26, will kick off on July 20 at the Hibiya Open-Air Concert Hall. The newly announced MARiA solo tour will begin on March 1 in Chengdu, followed by stops in Wuhan, Chongqing, and Tokyo. Additional cities for the tour will be announced in due course. GARNiDELiA has already revealed that they will release their all-time best album, GRND THE BEST PROGRESS, on February 26. Miki Matsubara’s Unreleased Song Revived by Tetsuji Hayashi Now Streaming!
The city pop masterpiece "Mayonaka no Door ~ Stay with Me", sung by Miki Matsubara, now has a previously unreleased song titled "SKY RESTAURANT'", which was released on December 5th via digital platforms. This track, with lyrics by Yumi Arai and music by Kunihiko Murai, is well-known as a hit performed by the vocal group Hi-Fi Set. It has also gained recognition overseas as a sampling source. For this release, only the vocal track preserved on multi-tapes stored in a warehouse was used, and a new arrangement was created by city pop maestros Tetsuji Hayashi and Yasuo Otani. Regarding the project, Hayashi commented, “I was entrusted with producing this track from Miki Matsubara’s unreleased recordings. That song turned out to be ‘Sky Restaurant,’ a hit familiar through Hi-Fi Set. I aimed to rebuild the arrangement by stripping away everything except her voice from the original demo recording, which had a distinctly kayōkyoku (Japanese pop) flavor. While working, listening to Miki’s voice and breaths captured by the mic, I felt moments of heartache from the reality that she is no longer with us.
