OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM have announced that their new song “Make Me Wonder” will be released on December 29. The track has also been selected as the opening theme song for the TV anime THE DARWIN INCIDENT, which will begin airing in January 2026.
Darwin Incident is a highly popular manga series with total circulation surpassing 2.2 million copies across nine volumes to date. Known for its original worldview and thrilling storyline, the series has received widespread acclaim, including winning the Grand Prize at the Manga Taisho 2022. The work enjoys strong popularity not only in Japan but also internationally, and is described as a compelling human and non-human drama.
“Make Me Wonder,” performed by OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM, was first unveiled during the band’s live performance at Zepp Fukuoka as part of the OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM one-man tour FOUR-RE:ISM, where the song’s release was also officially announced.
Regarding the creation of the song, OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM commented:
“It became an interesting song that blends excitement and fear toward the unknown. We feel that the thick, powerful band sound matches the world of the series perfectly, and it’s also a song we’re really looking forward to performing live.”
In addition, a main promotional trailer for the TV anime Darwin Incident, featuring a preview of “Make Me Wonder,” is scheduled to be released on December 12.
OFFICIAL HIGE DANDISM are also currently streaming their new song “Sanitizer.” This track marks their first non-tie-in release in approximately seven years since “Stand By You.” It is a medium-tempo rock number that conveys a message about overcoming challenges on one’s own and standing side by side within the relationship between “me” and “you.” Following stadium performances and appearances at major summer festivals in 2025, the band have continued to grow in scale and maturity, making “Sanitizer” a surprise release that represents the song they most want to deliver right now.
A music video for “Sanitizer” has also been released. Shot in Hokkaido, the video captures scenes of the members sharing meals and walking through the city, creating warm and intimate visuals that reflect the song’s atmosphere.

Q: How did you feel when you found out you would be performing the opening theme?
Because we really love this work, we felt genuinely happy. It is a one-of-a-kind series that blends comedic and serious elements, so we immediately began thinking about what kind of song we should create.
Q: What were your impressions after reading the original manga Darwin Incident?
The words spoken by the characters, starting with Charlie, gave us a lot to think about. Combined with the thrilling scenes, it was incredibly engaging. We ended up reading all the way to the latest volume in no time and are now looking forward to the next release.
Q: Please tell us about the meaning behind the song title and the song itself.
It became an interesting song that mixes excitement and fear toward the unknown. While the thick band sound matches the world of the series, we also feel it is a song that will be very exciting to perform live.
Q: Do you have a message for viewers looking forward to the anime?
When we read the work, we strongly felt, “What’s going to happen next!?” We created this song hoping that listeners would experience the same feeling through the music. If the opening theme can add even a small touch of color to the wonderful world of Darwin Incident, we would be very happy.
