KizunaAI is a virtual being and an artist whose theme is “I still want to connect with you, to understand who you are.” Debuting in 2016 as a pioneer of virtual YouTubers, she broadened her reach through multi-talented activities but entered an indefinite hiatus in 2022. After three years of dormancy, she resumed her activities on February 26, 2025, seeking new forms of musical expression. Prior to her hiatus, her sound was anchored in Japanese internet dance music. In this new stage, while cherishing those roots, she blends indie sounds, band elements, and J-POP sensibilities to introduce a new form of J-POP to the world.
